New Doggy!

I'm back from Spain, and totally forgot to take my knitting with me, so I have absolutely no knitting progress to report. We did, however, adopt a dog yesterday! She's a five year old German shepherd mix, but much smaller than a shepherd. Black and tan coloring, and really sweet and friendly. She's not trained beyond sitting for treats, but we're going to get a trainer. She's staying at the shelter until Monday when she gets spayed, and then we'll introduce her to our cat. Keep your fingers crossed that they hit it off ok!

Is this January? For Real?

It is January 6th, and I have my windows open because it is 70 degrees outside. In Boston!!! I actually saw poor, confused cherry trees blooming yesterday.

In actual knitting news, here's a picture of the beautiful yarn my mother brought back from Italy for me.

She got me four different skeins of two different variegated yarns. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them. They're a merino, acrylic, alpaca blend. Suggestions?

Pretty New MacBook

Because I really need my own laptop for school (and blogging) I bought myself a pretty new MacBook. So pretty! I'd been having some weird trouble with posting pics from the PC, so hopefully I'll have better luck with the Mac. First, though, I need to figure out how to get my pictures from the PC onto the Mac. Hrm... Then I will post pictures of the beautiful yarn my mother bought me on a recent trip to Italy.

Happy 2007!

One of my New Year's resolutions is to blog more. So, here it is! I went on a cruise this week, which was awesome. I did absolutely no knitting. I meant to, but left at home the socks I've been meaning to finish. So instead of knitting pics, I'll start the year with a picture from my trip, of the private island we went to, Castaway Cay.Hopefully my next post will give a good progress update on the socks I'm working on. I have one sock from two different pairs done, so I need to keep myself from falling into second sock syndrome. I'm playing the role of world traveler this month, so now that I'm back from the cruise, I'm heading to Spain for a week, so I'm hoping to get some good knitting done on the plane there and back. No more orphaned socks!
